Service and Performance Requirements

A Competent Harmony Healthcare Respiratory Professional (CHHI-Respiratory) is an interdisciplinary team member who successfully completes this 3 Day intensive, clinically founded training, geared towards providing and documenting outstanding patient care while understanding regulatory requirements and reimbursement related to Respiratory Therapy in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) setting. This program is interactive with a focus on practical application for the clinical staff and interdisciplinary team.

The negative effects of chronic respiratory illness on day-to-day quality of life are well documented, and with respiratory infections, COPD and CHF exacerbations as the leading causes of 30 and 180 day re-hospitalizations, the benefits of a strong Respiratory Therapy program in the Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) is undeniable. While the input of a Licensed Respiratory Therapist is valuable, comprehensive respiratory assessments and therapeutic respiratory interventions are well within the scope of practice of a licensed nurse. This program uses a holistic approach to provide the specific clinical training in the modalities of therapeutic respiratory interventions on a foundation that includes the clinical rationales for and the potential benefits of Respiratory Therapy.

The HHI Respiratory 3 day course offers participants a comprehensive understanding of Respiratory Therapy in the context of:

Clinical Benefits of Respiratory Therapy Program
    Clinical Indications for Respiratory Therapy
    Mechanics of Respiratory Assessment
    Therapeutic Respiratory Interventions
    Program Development and Implementation
    Documenting Respiratory Therapy
